About Kalmia Ornamental Tree and Shrub Care

Kalmia is the name the woods above the Susquehanna give their laurel, blooming pale along the slopes at Chickies Rock when June comes on. Kalmia Ornamental Tree and Shrub Care takes its own work down at ground level in Columbia, mowing and edging and clearing the season's litter from lawns tucked between the water and the high ground. Spring here is a fast green tide — one warm week and everything happens at once — and staying ahead of it is half the craft. The other half is the finish: a straight edge along the drive, corners cut square, not a clipping left on the concrete. Grass tended well makes everything planted near it look better, which is the quiet arithmetic of a good yard.
