About Pioneer Dirt Works

Out past the edge of Clearfield the roads turn to gravel and start climbing, and a storm on the plateau can shut a ridge lane in a couple of hours. Pioneer Dirt Works handles winter out there — plowing lanes, drives and lots, clearing walks and entryways, and laying down salt or antiskid where the grades get slick. Long rural drives ask for a plan: where the banks go, where the wind will refill, which corner to leave open so the next push still has room. Getting somebody down off a ridge and onto the highway before the workday starts is the part worth being proud of. Snow service runs across Clearfield and the surrounding townships.
