Keystone Green Lawns

About Keystone Green Lawns

Cheswick's backyards step down the hillside in terraces, and on a June evening the light comes in low and sideways off the river while the glow of Pittsburgh sits on the southwestern sky. Keystone Green Lawns keeps those tiers cut and shaped — mowing, string trimming, edging along the retaining walls, clearing the clippings so a yard reads finished rather than merely shortened. In winter the same slopes get plowed, shoveled and salted, because a steep drive under a glaze of ice is a different animal than a flat one. It is a good feeling to walk back to the truck and see the stripes running true across a lawn that fought you the whole way up. The route covers Cheswick and reaches into Springdale, Fox Chapel and Indiana Township.
