Scott's Tree Service

About Scott's Tree Service

Summer along the Monongahela at Charleroi is heavy and green, and the trees on the older lots grow like they mean to take the place back. Scott's Tree Service spends those months trimming that growth off the eaves and the gutter line, pruning young trees toward a shape that will not need rescuing in fifteen years, and removing the ones already past that point. A removal comes apart carefully in a narrow river-town yard, with nothing to spare between the house, the fence and the alley. When a storm rides in over the ridge and drops a crown into the backyard, they cut it down to length, rake the lawn, and have it gone by evening. What is left is the thing worth doing it for: a tidy lot with the sky back over it.
