About Morgan Excavating, L.P. Pompei, Inc.

Charleroi's streets do not lie flat. They climb up from the Monongahela in benches, one row of houses set above the next, and nearly every drive on them is a small hill with its own opinion about ice. Morgan Excavating, L.P. Pompei, Inc. clears snow across those grades — plowing lots and driveways, opening walkways, spreading salt where the pitch turns glassy under a streetlight. The heavy weather usually comes up the river valley overnight, wet and dense by daybreak, so the trucks are out in the dark hours while the town is still asleep. The best part of the shift is the run back down a finished block, headlights sweeping over nothing but black pavement. By the time the first cars nose out toward Route 88, the way is already open.
