About Scott's Hauling & Excavating, Inc.

Storms have a way of stalling against South Mountain, so what falls as rain out on Lincoln Highway is packed ice by the time it reaches the lots in Chambersburg. Scott's Hauling & Excavating, Inc. runs its snow work through those nights — plowing, stacking, hauling off what no longer fits in a corner, salting and de-icing until a surface is honest underfoot. There is real pride in a lot that sits black at six in the morning, corners squared, the entrance opened wide enough for a delivery truck to swing in without thinking about it. Long gravel drives out toward the mountain roads get the same attention as anything downtown. When the wind comes back down the valley overnight and fills what was cleared, the trucks go back out.
