About Down to Earth at the Lake LLC

Up in Somerset County the elevation does the talking: Central City sits high in the Laurel Highlands, where lake water holds the cold and snow totals get argued about all winter. Down to Earth at the Lake LLC plows and shovels through it — driveways, walkways, lots — and salts the stretches where wind off the ridges packs ice down hard. In summer the same properties get mowed, trimmed and edged, with cleanups at the shoulders of a season that runs shorter up here than it does down in the valleys. Mountain weather does not negotiate; it simply arrives, sometimes sideways. Having the drive open by morning is what this comes down to.
