Mike's Tree Service

About Mike's Tree Service

The Lehigh runs cold past Catasauqua in early spring, and the sycamores along the old canal towpath are the last things in the borough to leaf out. Mike's Tree Service starts the season there and up in the tight rows of brick houses, pruning what winter cracked and trimming crowns back off porch roofs and second-story windows. Removals in a town built this close together are a matter of inches — the trunk taken down in blocks, the wood carried out through a side gate, the little front lawn untouched. Storms that come up the valley from the southwest leave their share of limbs, and clearing them quickly is the difference between an afternoon's mess and a week of one. What lasts is the look of the block afterward: trimmed, swept, and quiet again.
