About Witmer Services

August mornings in the Cumberland Valley start under fog — the limestone fields around Carlisle steaming, fencerows floating loose, the whole thing gone by nine o'clock. Witmer Services is out in it, mowing while the day is still cool, trimming the awkward ground around posts, culverts and outbuildings where no mower will ever fit. Lawns here sit right up against working farmland, so the boundary between kept and unkept is a line somebody actually has to draw. Seasonal cleanups take the leaves and fallen limbs away and hand a property back looking deliberate. There is a plain pleasure in that contrast: the field doing whatever it likes, the yard doing exactly what it was told.
