About Schumacher Lawn Care

Late August in Washington County tends to go dry and brassy — the grass along the sidewalks thins out, the ground hardens, and a lawn needs attention more than it needs rain that is not coming. Schumacher Lawn Care keeps at it through that stretch, mowing a little higher, trimming and edging so a yard still reads sharp even when the color has gone out of it. Then September turns and everything greens up again almost overnight, and the cut lines look like they were drawn with a straightedge. Working the streets of California and the towns along the river, the pleasure is in small distinctions: a clean edge, no clippings left on the walk, mower lines running the same direction every time. Simple things, done in order, week after week.
