Toy's Landscape Company

About Toy's Landscape Company

By late October the hollows around Cabot go copper and rust, and every lane back to a farmhouse fills with leaves faster than anyone can keep up. Toy's Landscape Company works the whole arc of that turning — mowing and trimming while the grass still grows, clearing up when the trees let go, then plowing once the first real snow crosses Butler County. Winfield Township weather does not announce itself; it comes over the ridge overnight and leaves four inches on a quarter-mile driveway. Cutting that stretch open so someone can back out at six in the morning without a second thought is the plain reward of the whole thing. It is landscape work and it is snow work, and in this corner of the county they are two halves of caring for the same ground.
