Cain's Property Maintenance

About Cain's Property Maintenance

Winter comes off Chestnut Ridge in bands, and Bullskin Township can pick up four inches while the sky over Connellsville is only spitting. Cain's Property Maintenance is out in that — township lanes and farm drives plowed open, turnarounds pushed back wide enough for a delivery truck, salt down on the pitch where a driveway meets the road. The long straight approaches out here drift badly whenever the wind swings around, so the first pass is rarely the last one. Being finished before the school bus comes through is the whole ambition. Then the ridge goes pink at sunrise and the day starts on time.
