Mele Landscape Contractors

About Mele Landscape Contractors

There is an hour in a Braddock winter, somewhere past four in the morning, when the hill streets are blue and nothing has driven them yet. Mele Landscape Contractors is out in it — plow down, working the grades that run up from the river flats, opening lots and driveways before the first shift has to think about them. Snow arrives here on the wind off the water and packs hard against curbs and steps, so shovels follow the blade: walkways, entries, the strip between car and door. Salt goes down where the pitch turns treacherous, because in a borough built on a slope the ice matters more than the depth. By the time the sky grays over, the pavement is black and wet and the day can simply begin.
