About Living Landscapes

October on the Blakeslee plateau is a clean, cold light. The laurel stays green under the oaks, the ferns go copper, and a weekend of wind out of the Hickory Run country strips a yard bare. Living Landscapes works with that grain, mowing through the short mountain summer, then pulling leaf fall off lawns, out of beds and away from foundations before snow packs it down. Trimming and edging square up these wooded properties, where a lawn is really a clearing and its border is what makes it read as one. Mulch goes down dark around the shrubs, and the walkways are left swept. A mountain yard kept honest is a small, good thing to come home to.
