Joe's Lawn Services

About Joe's Lawn Services

Up on the plateau at Blakeslee, spring shows up two or three weeks behind the valleys — the birches leaf out late, the hemlock stays dark all year, and the lake communities fill back in around the same time. Joe's Lawn Services mows those winding wooded lots where grass grows in patches between root and ledge, trimming around decks, propane tanks, stone walls and the corners a rider will never fit. Summer up here is short and green and wet, so the cutting stays regular right the way through it. Planting beds get their border re-cut and a topping of mulch, shrubs are clipped back from the steps, and the gravel drive is raked out before the gate closes. By the time the mountain nights turn cold again, the leaves are off the grass and the place is put to bed.
