About Clearview Service and Sharpening

Winter shows up in Belfast off the Blue Mountain first — a gray line over the ridge, then wind pouring through the Wind Gap notch, and by dark the slate-country roads are white. Clearview Service and Sharpening takes the storm as it comes, plowing driveways and lots through the night and coming back for the tail end so nobody wakes to a windrow across the apron. Salt and grit go on the shaded pitches where ice sets hardest and the sun never quite reaches. Walkways, steps and the path to the mailbox are cleared by shovel and squared off at the corners. There is a plain satisfaction in a black driveway at first light with the fields still buried on either side.
