About The Great Knock 'Em Down

Some jobs are not a lawn yet. The Great Knock 'Em Down takes the grass that got away over a wet Beaver Falls August — hip-high, seeded out, hiding the curb entirely — and brings it back down to something a mower can live with. Cutting, trimming, edging out the walk that was under there somewhere, and hauling the whole shaggy business off the property. There is a real pleasure in the reveal, the shape of a yard coming back sharp hour by hour. After that it is a matter of a regular cut, and the wildness never gets another running start.
