About Bucks Outdoor Services

Four in the morning in January, and the ridge north of Bangor is still deciding how much it means to give. Bucks Outdoor Services is already moving — blade down on the driveways, shovel work at the steps, salt where the walk meets the street so the first trip out is an ordinary one. When the ground gives back in April, the same truck trades the plow for a mower deck: regular cutting, edges held to a line, trimming along fences and foundations, and cleanups at both ends of the growing months. This is a town of narrow lots and short pitched drives, which rewards anyone who has learned which way the water runs off them. The measure of a good morning here is that nobody had to think about it.
