Byra's Fence Company

About Byra's Fence Company

Ashley sits right at the foot of the mountain, where the old inclined-plane grade climbs out of the Wyoming Valley, and weather that stalls against that wall drops its snow squarely on the borough below. Byra's Fence Company plows through those nights — driveways opened, lots cleared corner to corner, banks pushed back off the apron so the next storm has somewhere to go. Walks and steps get shoveled down to the surface and salted before the refreeze sets in near dawn. Solomon Creek runs black between white banks and the streets come back one pass at a time. A borough that wakes up able to move is the whole measure of a winter night done right.
