Staudt Mowes

About Staudt Mowes

By the last week of October the maples along Arnold's avenues let go all at once, and every yard on the hill above the Allegheny disappears under a copper drift. Staudt Mowes runs the fall through here — leaves off the lawns, out of the beds, off the walks and away, then a final low cut so the turf goes into winter clean. The rest of the year it is a steady weekly mow, edges held true to the sidewalk squares, string trimming where the deck cannot reach an alley fence. Summer means keeping pace with growth that comes on fast in the river air. Autumn is the season this town looks best cleaned up, and that is the whole idea.
