About Vinnie's Pool Service & Contracting

January in the Kiski Valley has a habit: the plow goes by on the main road, the wind comes over the ridge, and the driveways fill in behind it. Vinnie's Pool Service & Contracting takes the snow work in Apollo — plowing drives that pitch down toward the river, shoveling the flights of steps that borough houses stack up from the street, and salting the shaded stretches where ice holds past noon. On grades like these the whole trick is where the snow is put, so the banks go back far enough that the next storm still has room to land. Work starts in the dark, headlights swinging across the hill, and it finishes when pavement shows. A cleared drive at six in the morning is a small thing that changes an entire day.
