Next Level Mowing

About Next Level Mowing

Altoona was laid out on a grade, and every yard here has to reckon with it — lawns that step up from the sidewalk in short terraces, banks that lean toward the street, side strips narrow as a hallway. Next Level Mowing takes those slopes the way you take the hill roads climbing toward Juniata Gap: patiently, in even passes, until the whole thing lies down in one direction. Mowing, trimming and edging, and the upkeep that keeps a pitched lot from getting away from a person between visits. On a June morning the cut smells green the length of the block, and the terraces read like stairs again. It is a plain sort of satisfaction, and it holds all week.
