J&D Lawn and Tree

About J&D Lawn and Tree

November strips the big maples along Altoona's older avenues in about ten days, and the lawns underneath vanish under a foot of color that has to go somewhere. J&D Lawn and Tree works that stretch hard — clearing the drop, cutting the grass down one last time, edging the walks so the shape survives the winter. Through the warm months it is mowing on a steady cycle and trimming the ground beneath the canopies where the mower cannot swing. Then the first real storm comes over the Front and the routes change to plowing drives, opening walks and salting the shaded ice that lingers for days. Around the city and the boroughs beside it, the yard gets handed cleanly from one season to the next.
