Altoona lies in a bowl between Brush Mountain and the Allegheny Front, and weather that clears the ridge tends to arrive with intent. A2W Seasonal Services runs the whole year against it — mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups while Logan Valley is green, then plowing, shoveling and salting once the ridge disappears into cloud and the streets start filling in. Hillside blocks and the narrow alleys off the old railroad grid need a plow that already knows where the snow can go. Come May the same lawns get cut to a clean line along the sidewalk and the beds get their edges back. Two seasons, one route, kept in hand.
