Old Allentown wears brick and slate, and every winter those steep roofs shed onto walks that somebody has to keep passable. Gutter Twins takes the snow side of that bargain: plowing drives and lots, clearing walks, steps and entryways, and salting the places where meltwater freezes back overnight. A city block after a storm is a sequence of small problems — the curb cut, the shaded side, the stretch under the eave that hardens at four in the morning. Solving them one property at a time is the work, and it is done with a shovel as often as a blade. By the time the sun clears the rooftops, a sidewalk is a sidewalk again.
