About Carl R. Bales Excavating Inc.

A heavy snow makes the farm lanes out toward Mertztown vanish entirely — fence line, ditch and roadway all one white surface until somebody cuts the first pass. Carl R. Bales Excavating Inc. takes on that winter work around Alburtis: plowing drives and lots, pushing the banks back before the next storm needs the room, clearing walks and laying down salt where it counts. Long lanes and wide lots want equipment with reach and an operator who knows what lies underneath the snow. A night like that has its own quiet — headlights, falling flakes, the steady rhythm of blade and reverse. Daylight comes and everything is passable again, which is the entire ambition.
