About Immanuel Randolph Paving Inc.

Some of the driveways in Albany run a quarter mile of gravel with a bend in the middle, and a good snow makes them vanish entirely. Immanuel Randolph Paving Inc. plows those — the farm lanes and long private drives no road crew is coming for, opened end to end and widened at the turnaround so a truck can get back out. The walk from the door to where the pickup sits gets cleared and salted, because that short stretch is where winter usually catches people. Banks are pushed well back on the first storm so the second one has somewhere to go. There is a plain satisfaction in the last pass at dawn: bare gravel showing under the headlights, the fields still blue, and a household able to leave on time.
