About Chop City Tree and Lawn Service

Down along the Tookany in Ardsley the sycamores lean out over the water and the ground stays soft late into the fall. Chop City Tree and Lawn Service works that end of Abington through the whole turn of the year: mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups while the grass is running, then plowing and salting once the cold takes hold. Autumn is the hinge — one week it is the last cut of the season, the next it is the first push down a driveway at four in the morning. Both jobs come down to the same instinct, which is getting there before the mess sets. By January the drive is bare, the walk is gritted, and the creek keeps going under its lid of ice.
