About Turfana Turf Services

Winter here is not cold so much as constant — weeks of soft rain off the Coast Range, and by February moss creeping into every yard the light never reaches. Turfana Turf Services works that season on the lawns around Charbonneau and the south bank of the river: treating moss, dethatching the felted mats out of the turf, and pulling cores so air and water can reach the roots. Fertilization follows, then overseeding, and when those fairway-flat yards green up in April the difference is plain from the driveway. Through the warm months the schedule settles into mowing, edging and weed control on a steady loop. Grass answers quickly when you give it room, and most of this job is opening that room.
