Basalt Creek threads the seam between Wilsonville and Tualatin, cutting down to the dark old rock that gave it the name. Basalt Creek Landscape takes its name from that ground and tends the lawns above it, running mowing, edging, aeration and dethatching across the properties spread along the north end of town. February in this valley is mud and moss and turf that never entirely stopped growing, and there is a plain pleasure in being the one who shows up regardless. Come the first dry stretch the thatch lifts away, the plugs come up, and the grass answers back green. A lawn brought around like that is worth standing at the curb to look at.
