Wind is the first fact of the Columbia Gorge, and at The Dalles it comes upriver hard enough to bend the cottonwoods along the Riverfront Trail. Fli Landscape works with it instead of against it — cutting on the calm mornings, blowing clippings downwind, keeping beds mulched so the soil stays where it was put. Mowing, edging, shrub and hedge trimming, weeding and seasonal cleanups run steadily from the March green-up until the grass finally gives out in the fall.
