Mow-tivated Lawn Care

About Mow-tivated Lawn Care

By late July the Umpqua Valley bakes, and the smartest hour in Sutherlin is the one just after the sun drops behind the western ridge. That is when Mow-tivated Lawn Care likes to be out — deck set high for the heat, string trimmer humming down a fence line, the smell of cut grass carrying toward Central Avenue. Out past Plat I Reservoir the open fields go straw-blond in August, and a watered, mowed lawn in that light reads like a green declaration. The edges are cut sharp, the walk is blown bare, and what is left behind is stripes and a clean line of concrete. It is simple work, carried all the way to the end, week after week.
