SKB Yard Care

About SKB Yard Care

Morning in Springfield comes in low and gray off the Willamette, fog lying in the bottomlands near Island Park until the sun finally burns a hole through it. SKB Yard Care is out in that hour, mower already warm, cutting the first lines into grass still beaded from the river air. There is a particular satisfaction in an edge run clean along a sidewalk, the border sharp enough that the lawn looks drawn rather than grown. Summer turns the valley gold by July and asks for a taller cut and a steadier rhythm; when the rain returns in October it asks for something else entirely. Mowing, trimming, edging, and hauling the clippings off — plain work, done carefully, on the streets between the river and the hills. By the time the fog lifts the yard is finished, and the day belongs to whoever lives there.
