The Yard Bullet

About The Yard Bullet

Downtown Silverton wears its murals on brick walls along Water Street, and this is a town where a job done quickly and a job done right both get noticed. The Yard Bullet lives up to the name: in and out on mowing day, front and back cut level, trimmer around the posts and the porch skirt, drive and sidewalk blown off before the truck door shuts. Mornings are the hour for it — dew lifting, the creek still cool, streets quiet enough to hear the blades change note in thicker grass. Through the growing season the route repeats weekly; through fall it turns to leaves and one last low cut before the rain takes charge. Silverton and the towns near it — Mount Angel, Scotts Mills, Sublimity and Stayton.
