June in this stretch of the Willamette Valley hums — nursery rows, berry fields, clover blooming in any lawn that gets to grow an extra week. Lawn Bees works that season with the busyness the name promises, mowing on a regular round through Silverton, trimming close along fences and flower beds, and gathering up clippings so the turf underneath can dry. There is a rhythm to a valley summer: cut, a few warm days, cut again, and by the Fourth of July a whole block wears that short, sweet-smelling look. When the rains return in October the job shifts to leaves, keeping lawns clear before the fog moves back in over the fields. Silverton, Mount Angel, Scotts Mills, the Silverton Hills and out toward Woodburn.
