About Alanis Hardscape Creations LLC

On the slopes below Mount Tabor's old cinder cone, yards fall away in narrow terraces, and a mower has to learn the grade before it learns the grass. Alanis Hardscape Creations LLC works those east Portland blocks from the reservoir gates down toward 60th, mowing with the contour and cutting an edge that follows the basalt curb like a line drawn with a straightedge. Spring here arrives wet and sudden — a week of drizzle, then a Saturday when every lawn on the hill is suddenly ankle-high. String trimming reaches the fence corners and stair rails no mower deck will ever see, and the clippings leave with the crew instead of washing down to the storm grate. By late morning the terraces read as one unbroken sweep of green, stepping down the hill the way the streets do.
