April is the short, extravagant window when the Umpqua hills are still green and the vineyard rows out toward Melrose are just breaking bud — the few weeks when anything planted takes hold easily. Bmk landscape leans into that window: beds shaped and mulched, borders laid out, new turf put down while the rain is still doing half the watering. The rest of the year is the steady part, mowing and trimming and edging so the spring layout holds its lines into the dry months. A bed with a firm edge and a lawn cut to one height make even a plain Roseburg lot look composed. The pleasure is in seeing a yard someone sketched in April look right the following August.
