About Felton Landscape Maintenance

Fog settles into the west hills longer than anywhere else in Portland, pooling over Multnomah Village and Hillsdale until nearly noon in February. Felton Landscape Maintenance works in that gray, when lawns go spongy and moss creeps in beneath the Douglas firs — lifting it out, dethatching, liming and feeding so the turf can take the ground back by March. The rest of the year runs on mowing and edging, trimming along fences and walks, shaping hedges, and clearing leaves and needles off the grass before they mat it down. Cutting a wet-country lawn well is a matter of timing more than force. When the sun finally burns through and a fresh-cut yard steams a little on the slope, the work shows plainly.
