The Lawn Rangers

About The Lawn Rangers

On a June evening the promenade along the bluff fills with people watching the river turn copper, and behind them the neighborhood lawns are all newly cut. The Lawn Rangers hold that standard across Oregon City: mowing on rotation, string trimming around trees and mailboxes, edging that gives a walkway its line back. Northwest daylight stretches the working day well past dinner in midsummer, which is a gift for anyone who mows for a living. Autumn brings the cleanup rounds, clearing leaves and spent growth off the turf. It is ordinary work done attentively, and a whole street shows it.
