Rain here is not an event; it is the weather's resting position, and the lawns along Isthmus Slough made their peace with that a long time ago. Clean Rivers works straight through the wet months — mowing when a window opens, edging the walks so grass doesn't creep across them, trimming the fence lines, and pulling soggy clippings and leaf litter off before they turn a lawn spongy. On ground this soft the whole skill is knowing when to cut and when to give it another day. What comes out the other side is turf that drains, breathes and still looks tended in the middle of February. Coos Bay, Eastside, Millington and the slough roads are the range.
