About Miguel's Lawn Service

June evenings in Milwaukie run out past nine, the Willamette going silver past Elk Rock Island, and that is the finest hour there is for looking at a lawn you just finished. Miguel's Lawn Service is out in those hours all season, mowing in straight overlapping passes, edging where turf meets sidewalk, running the trimmer around fruit trees and fence corners. Down along Johnson Creek the yards are shady and damp and grow unevenly, and the answer is simply showing up the same day each week so the grass never gets ahead. Then the walks are blown clear and the gate is latched behind him. What is left is a yard that looks calm, which is more or less the whole point.
