Valley Lawn and Landscape

About Valley Lawn and Landscape

In midsummer the Grande Ronde Valley is one long green bowl, hayfields running to the edges and Ladd Marsh shimmering south of town where the herons stand around like they own the place. Town lawns want to be part of that green, and in a valley where July can go weeks without rain, they only stay that way with attention. So the calendar runs on mowing and edging, on weeds pulled before they seed, on beds kept tidy and shrubs shaped back off the windows. Fall brings the other half of it — leaves down all at once when the first cold snap comes over from the Wallowas, and a cleanup that leaves the yard ready for the freeze. It is steady maintenance work, the kind that makes a place look cared for every week of the year rather than once each spring.
