About B.D. Enterprises, LLC

Hermiston mornings arrive pale and wide, the light coming up over the Columbia Basin long before the heat does, and that early hour is when B.D. Enterprises, LLC likes to have the first mower running. There is a real satisfaction in cutting grass while the dew still holds — the passes laid straight, the edge along the walk trimmed clean enough to read from the road. Out here, where irrigation is the whole difference between green and sage, a kept lawn is something a household decides on and then keeps deciding. Mowing, trimming, edging, weed control and seasonal cleanups make up the week, from the older blocks in town to the places strung out along the highway. By the time the afternoon settles heavy over the fields, the work is behind them and the yard is left to its own quiet.
