About Fire Safe Landscapes LLC

By August the wind turns around and comes down over the ridges above Hunter Creek dry as paper, and the slopes behind Gold Beach go the color of straw. Fire Safe Landscapes LLC works that stretch hard — mowing the tall stuff down, cutting brush and blackberry back from fence lines and outbuildings, opening space between the low growth and the lawn, then hauling the cuttings and needle litter off the ground and away. The rest of the year settles into a steadier rhythm: regular cuts, clean edges along the gravel, weeds kept out of the beds, leaves and blowdown cleared after the winter storms pass through. There is a plain pleasure in standing at the top of a property when the work is done and seeing open, mowed ground where the overgrowth used to be. Out here, tidy and prepared amount to the same thing.
