South Eugene climbs in a hurry — one block you are on a flat street, the next you are under fir shade with Spencer Butte standing over the rooflines and the Ridgeline Trail somewhere above the fence. Twin Pines Lawn and Landscape works these slopes and the flats below them, mowing, edging, trimming, and keeping shrubs and planting beds in order. Autumn does most of the talking up here: the bigleaf maples let go nearly all at once, and a lawn can disappear under gold over a single weekend. Clearing it is plain, good work — rake, blow, haul — and then the grass is breathing again before the rains settle in for the long stretch. Come March the same yards come back thick and deep green, and the weekly round starts over.
