Brother Nature

About Brother Nature

East of town the ground rolls out into oak savanna, and by June the open grass goes gold while the yards along the lanes hold their green. Brother Nature works in that contrast — mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching beds and hauling off the cuttings, so a lawn keeps its color against the dry hills behind it. Madrone bark peels red in the heat and the oaks throw a shade worth standing in; a yard tuned to those rhythms asks for the same patience. Each visit closes with the edges cut true and the clippings gone. It is outdoor work in a town that still has room to breathe.
