Chuck's Lawn Care

About Chuck's Lawn Care

On a Saturday the blocks around the Polk County courthouse are quiet enough to hear a mower two streets over. Chuck's Lawn Care is often the one making the sound — running the lawns of Dallas in even passes, edging the sidewalk seams, trimming the strip between fence and shed that everyone else gives up on. There is real pride in the turnaround: a shaggy yard at nine, a tidy one by eleven, the mower's pattern still showing in the grass. Clippings get cleared off the concrete before the gate closes. Then on to the next house, and the street looks a little better than it did.
