About Walters

The Cotton County Courthouse rises over Walters, a southwest Oklahoma town where cotton and wheat ground spreads out past the last houses on the outskirts. This lawn care business, which carries the town's own name, mows and tidies yards here as the warm wind sweeps in across the plains and the grass surges after each spring rain. A good cut in Walters means a straight line along the curb, trimmed corners at the mailbox post, and a yard soft enough to cross barefoot. The work starts early, ahead of the afternoon heat that settles over the county by midday. What's left behind is a lawn that looks like it belongs to someone proud of this town.
