About Yard Birds Outdoor Services LLC

October on the Craig County prairie thins the birdsong out — the scissortails gone south, a lone meadowlark still working the fence wire above ground going brown at the edges. Yard Birds Outdoor Services LLC likes this stretch of the year around Vinita, when the mowing eases off and the real job becomes leaves: raked out of the beds, pulled off the fence line, gathered and carried away before the wind rearranges them twice. Through the warm months it is the steady kind of work — mowing on rotation, trimming around posts and foundations, edges cut back to a clean line along the concrete. Then one last low cut before the grass goes dormant and the yard settles for winter looking deliberate rather than abandoned. Handing a place back that way, right at the turn of the season, is the best part of the calendar.
