About Thomas Lawn and landscape

Bird Creek runs the low ground east of Skiatook, and on summer mornings the fog off it hangs in the pasture grass until the sun over Highway 20 burns it away. Thomas Lawn and landscape starts in that hour, when the dew still shows every wheel line and a mower leaves its mark plain as pencil. Yards here range from town lots behind the brick storefronts downtown to half-acre stretches where the Osage prairie leans in at the fence, and each gets its own pass of mowing, edging, and trimming close along posts and beds. Walks come clean, the clippings go with the truck, and a yard that was shaggy at daybreak sits square to the street by afternoon. There is a plain satisfaction in that, repeated week after week through a Skiatook summer.
